A car's lights flashed and I knew that there was no way that I could get to my front door!

My son had been out with his biological father and was told that he was going to break into our house and kill me! (My son was only 7/8).

I drove to the nearest police station - it was closed.

My boyfriend who was in the car with us said to go to Bristol - I didn't know Bristol so I went towards Bath.

Before I reached the police station that was closed my ex had already tried to run us off the road!

And he tried again as I reached the boundaries of Bath, my car was registering that it was out of petrol but I made it to the city centre where I left him with several police officers behind Bath bus station.

Sound horrendous doesn't it but it actually changed the route that my life was going to take!

I split from the boyfriend, and started to make a new life for myself and my son, my depression reseeded and everything was rosy not long after I moved to a different address, and then took a house swap and moved to the other side of Bristol.

My ex cut off all ties not wanting to see our son at all and stopped his maintenance payments but all was not lost for I had a phone call from a man with a Welsh accent asking me to go on a date - at first I said no but not being able to get his voice out of my head rang him back the next day and said yes.

We met on a Thursday evening spoke about having babies, marriage and all kinds of things that normally aren't addressed on a first date. That weekend we took my son to Weston Super Mare, he was a complete nightmare but it didn't put that Welsh man off and we've together for 36 years!

Who'd have thought that a cars lights flashing would have led to such freedom?

This is just part of my journey there's more I can tell but meeting that Welsh man and moving to Wales gave me the tools to help you reroute your life!
